Abertura no Impact HUB - Design Social em alta! - The Impact HUB opening - Social Design Elevation!
Ontem começou a mcbw e fui conferir a abertura da programação do Impact HUB. Social Design Elevation Days será uma semana dedicada à projetos, visões e experiências relacionadas ao design de impacto social.

O evento começou com a apresentação dos nove finalistas do concurso de Social Design promovido pela fundação Hans Sauer. Todos os projetos traziam soluções significativas para problemas sociais tais como melhoria no sistema de acolhimento de refugiados, crise crescente aqui na europa, ou o uso de impressão 3D para criação de interfaces táctis para educação de deficientes visuais.
A meu ver, um projeto em especial merece o prêmio por integrar a solução de diversos problemas em um sistema incrivelmente simples e conectado à realidade das comunidades. MoSan é uma espécie vaso sanitário portátil para regiões que não possuem sistema de esgoto. Contudo, mais importante do que evitar que os dejetos contaminem o ambiente, é como o sistema integra-se a vida das pessoas de forma a gerar oportunidades de trabalho e geração de renda.
Até o final da semana será revelado o vencedor.
A noite também contou com duas breves palestras. Uma como um diretor de projeto da Ideo que ressaltou a importância dos valores da empresa na construção de projetos sociais, os quais ele acredita não ser exclusividade da Ideo mas sim uma expressão do novo mindset do design centrado no ser humano. E, seguramente a contribuição mais valiosa da noite, a palestra de Ezio Manzini na qual exibiu sua visão do design para inovação social.
O estudioso italiano, dotado de um profundo conhecimento do universo de atuação do design e com uma capacidade muito clara de sintetizar as mudanças que temos observado no mundo trouxe 4 visões inspiradoras.
1. A persepção da evolução do campo de atuação do designer do foco em objetos (cadeira, cartaz, utencílios, etc) para o foco no todo / sistema e na disseminação do método de pensar / planejar ideias / soluções (design thinking).
2. Neste sentido ressaltou a importância do papel do designer, mais do na produção de obras / produtos / soluções, na criação de linguagens que permitem outras áreas construir o novo com base em melhores abordagens.
3. Assim sugeriu que tão importante ou mais do que trabalhar com foco em problemas e na entrega de soluções, é o papel do designer em contribuir como catalizador de mudança e promotor de soluções. Isso significa, por exemplo, não se colocar no papel de salvador, alguém que vem trazer a solução de um problema de uma comunidade carente e sim buscar as iniciativas, potenciais e soluções já existentes e desenvolvidas por estas pessoas e apenas criar meios para que operem e melhor e gerem mais benefícios.
4. Por fim, valorizou o fato do campo do design estar penetrando diversos níveis sociais permitindo qualquer pessoa contribuir e co-criar soluções, nas quais o profissional do design passa a atuar como um orquestrador.
The Impact HUB opening - Social Design Elevation!
Yesterday began the MCBW and I went to check the Impact HUB opening programing. Social Design Elevation Days is a week dedicated to projects, views and experiences related to the design for social impact.

The event began with the presentation of the nine finalists of the Social Design Award sponsored by the foundation Hans Sauer. All projects brought significant solutions to social problems such as improvement in the refugee reception system, growing crisis here in Europe, or the use of 3D printing to create tactis interfaces for visually impaired education.
In my view, one particular project deserves the award for integrating the solution of various problems in an incredibly simple system and connecting it to the reality of the communities. MoSan is a kind of portable toilet for regions that do not have sewer system. However, more important than prevent waste from contaminating the environment, is how the system integrates people's lives in order to generate employment opportunities and income generation.
By the week's end the winner will be revealed.
The night also featured two short talks. A Ideo's project manager who highlighted the importance of the company's values in the construction of social projects, which he believes is not exclusive of Ideo but an expression of the new human centered design mindset. (See image)
And surely the most valuable contribution of the night, the talk of Ezio Manzini in which he exhibited his vision of design for social innovation.
The Italian scholar, endowed with a profound knowledge of the design's field of action and with a clear ability to synthesize changes we have observed in the world brought 4 inspiring visions.
